Lake Manyara Tree Lodge
is the only lodge in the small yet diverse Lake Manyara National Park. Set in the heart of a mahogany forest Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is located in the remote south-western region of the park. The 10 treehouses, built of timber and makuti (palm fronds), are nestled in the boughs of mahogany trees. Rooms are spacious with comfortable lounging areas on the decks, each with an outdoor shower, bath and double basins. The lodge has a crafts gallery featuring community craftwork, a pool, boma and interactive kitchen allowing guests to observe the preparation of delicious Pan-African cuisine. Activities include game viewing drives with expert guides and nature and birding walks in the forest along a perennial river down to the lakeshore. Characteristic wildlife species of the area include tree-climbing lion, elephant, buffalo, flamingo, wildebeest, hippo and Coke's hartebeest.
