Lake Pleasant has a long and checkered history of offering unique accommodation.
The new Lake Pleasant Hotel became the Garden Route jewel in the Mantis crown and was one of the few graded 5 star hotels in Africa.
In October 2005 Mantis changed the hotel to luxury self contained all-suite accommodation offering the same 5 star accommodation but without the expensive frills required of a 5 star hotel and the new Lake Pleasant Living lifestyle was born.
Lake Pleasant Living accommodation is luxurious to say the least. Classic, up-market furnishings and finishes with original artwork define Lake Pleasant Living's exclusivity.
Open-plan living areas with one or two en-suite bedrooms lead to private patios and balconies. All suites have their own separate lounge with dinning area, a balcony or patio that opens to the lush gardens or lake, en-suite luxury bathrooms, a separate additional guest bathroom with shower and a fully equipped kitchenette with cooker, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.

The serviced suites all have breathtaking views of the lake and landscaped garden from private patios and balconies.

2-Bedroom Suites: offer two full en-suite bedrooms, kitchenette, guest bathroom (including shower), open plan lounge and dining area flowing onto a patio or balcony.
Bistro & Bar
The Bistro Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week offering fabulous cuisine classically prepared with a unique touch by our passionate chef accompanied by fine South African wines .
The dining experience can be completed with an aromatic coffee, warming cognac or liqueur. For the connoisseur or mere puffer, a selection of Cuban cigars are on offer from the humidor - sink back into a leather couch and enjoy the ambience.
For the romantic, picnic baskets filled with delicious delicacies can be ordered for the beach at sunrise, or sunset, or anywhere in-between. The dining experience would be incomplete without aromatic coffees, decadent desserts, warming cognacs, fragrant cigars and friendly attentive service.
Mantis Collection Spa On The Lake
The Mantis Collection Spa features sauna and steam rooms and an indoor heated relaxation pool open to guests. Body and beauty treatments can be booked with our professional therapists as an added service.
Gymnasium
All guests enjoy unlimited complimentary use of the Lake Pleasant Living gymnasium located in the spa. With a selection of modern and versatile apparatus our gym will help ensure you keep in shape while away from home.
Herb Garden
Lake Pleasant Living has it's own carefully tendered herb garden to supply the Bistro kitchen with freshly picked herbs each day.
All guests are welcome to take advantage and make use of the herb garden for their own culinary requirements whilst at Lake Pleasant Living.
Swimming Pools & Lake
Lake Pleasant Living has three swimming pools for the enjoyment of our guests.
An outdoor 7x11m rim floor pool with amazing vistas over the lake.
An indoor heated relaxation pool.
An outdoor kiddies pool with a water slide.
Please note that children under the age of 12years are asked to not use the indoor and rim flow pools and restrict their swimming enjoyment to the kids pool and water slide that has been designed with their safety and comfort in mind. Parents are advised that Lake Pleasant Living does not provide any lifesaving personnel and all guests swim at their own risk.
The Groenvlei Lake is generally safe for swimming and it's water temperature is surprisingly warm. Inexperienced swimmers are however advised to not swim in the lake without competent supervision.
The lake is also full of fish so make certain to bring a rod and a few bass lures with you! As the lake forms part of the Goukamma Nature Reserve only rowing, sailing and battery operated motor boats are allowed on the lake.
Internet Station
A dedicated always-on Internet station is located in the entrance foyer. Our guests enjoy free use of this facility.
Please note that at this time it is not possible to access the Internet using your own computer on the Lake Pleasant Living computer network. Should it be essential for you to access the Internet using your own computer we suggest you obtain a 3G modem card from your cel phone provider before visiting Lake Pleasant, alternatively, there are Internet cafe's in both nearby Knysna and George where you are able to connect using your own computer.
Conference / Private Dining Room
A elegantly decorated conference and private dining room that seats 14 people is available by prior arrangement to guests for meetings and special occasions.
BBQ Facilities
Guests are able to rent a genuine Webber braai and purchase prepared meat packs from the Bistro should they wish to enjoy a BBQ on their suite's patio or even on the floating jetty.
Launderette
A fully equipped launderette is available for all guests to make use of if needed. Use of the launderette equipment is free of charge however guests do need to supply their own laundry detergents.
