The Garden Route is well known for exquisite bird life, forest walks and whale watching. Over 85 species of birds visit our property. Many varieties of protea flower in our indigenous gardens, which invite you to stroll around and explore.

At Fynbos Ridge you can choose between bed and breakfast accommodation in the Country House, or self-catering in the garden cottages and studio apartment.
Country House
The Country House is a large Cape Dutch design guesthouse which has 4 double luxury bedrooms and 1 double superior luxury bedroom - each with full en-suite bathroom. Full breakfasts and dinners by arrangement are served in the alfresco dining room.
Both the formal and informal lounges have log fireplaces and there is a long outdoor patio where guests can enjoy mountain views whilst having their breakfasts and dinners.
All the rooms are named after one of our beautiful indigenous flowers.

Delicious breakfasts served in the dining room of the Country House, or alfresco on the verandah. We offer a buffet of fruit, cereal, cheeses and meats, freshly baked croissants and scones as well as full English breakfasts made to order.
In the evening, fine dining is available, made with the freshest locally sourced ingredients. Crunchy salads and sweet young vegetables, freshly picked from our organic herb and vegetable gardens. All accompanied by home made bread, straight from the oven.
Passionate chef Brian, has been awarded many "Michelin Stars" by our guests, and the menu changes daily, depending on what is fresh and in season.
Freshly cooked meals are also delivered to the cottages.

CARBON FOOTPRINT
Owners Liz and Brian Phillips are committed to doing their bit for the environment. Over a period of years the fynbos has been restored to its natural state by undertaking a burning schedule and continuous removal of all invasive alien vegetation. Fynbos is a collective term which describes the vegetation indigenous to the Southern Cape and includes well-known plant species such as proteas and ericas. In 2001 Fynbos Ridge was proclaimed a Private Nature Reserve by the Western Cape Nature Conservation Board. Many birds, butterflies and small mammals have now made Fynbos Ridge their home.
Steps we have taken to protect the environment and conserve natural resources include:
• Landscaping with indigenous vegetation.
• Installed solar heating.
• Commissioned our own biological sewage treatment plant.
• Use biodegradable cleaning products.
• Recycle refuse.
• Conserve rainwater.
• Use natural fabrics and recycled glassware where possible.
• Installed water-saving showerheads where possible.
• Growing our own organic herbs & vegetables.
• Generate our own compost.
• Vermicomposting (installed a wormery).
Annually we calculate our carbon footprint and plant trees to offset this. Our guests are also encouraged to contribute to this initiative.
