Linyanti Tented Camp
Linyanti Tented Camp is an intimate traditional camp overlooking a tranquil lagoon in the Linyanti marshes. Set within a private reserve bordering the western boundary of Chobe National Park, the camp is owned by conservationist Fred Keeley, the first concessionaire in Botswana to forgo considerable hunting revenues to develop game concentrations.
The camp accommodates a maximum of eight guests in five comfortable tents equipped with en-suite bathrooms, flushing loos and running hot and cold water. Best known for the huge herds of elephant that congregate on the Linyanti River in the dry season, the marshes are also home to red lechwe, sitatunga, hippo, as well as large cats and wonderful birdlife.
To experience the wetlands and contrasting drylands, Linyanti offers day and night game drives, boating, canoeing and fascinating game and bird walks. Praise is unstinting for this charming camp; one guest described her stay as being 'treated like a queen in the middle of nowhere’.
