White Shark Adventure - Full Day

Shark diving and sighted tour is offered off Gansbaai ( 2 hr drive from Cape Town ). 12 Kms offshore from Gansbaai we find two islands situated next to each other.

Due to a number of geographical reasons - one being the shallow and narrow channel that runs between these two islands - Dyer Island has become known as one of the most unique areas in the world, to successfully view the great white shark.

A 40 foot motorized catamaran is anchored in Gansbaai - and is registered to carry 22 passengers - the boat is luxurious and even boasts a hot shower on board. Passengers will receive an educational briefing about the area as well as the White Shark.

The educational also covers the behavior of the shark, and other interesting issues. The specially designed cage can take up to 6 divers at a time.

The scenic ride from Gansbaai's main harbour to Dyer Island can be viewed from either the bow or the large rear viewing deck. Excellent viewing from the fly deck. The boat is fitted with top of the range navigation and more than adequate safety equipment. Once a shark has been attracted to the boat and all photos and videos have been taken, the cage will be lowered and diving proceeds.

There is currently a 96 % sighting record from the boat. This trip caters for qualified divers as well as non-divers. Boat leaves Gansbaai at 08h00 and returns late afternoon.
