Kitchwa Tembo

Well established and very traditional, this tented camp makes you feel part of the Masai tradition. The tents are all en-suite with two twin beds and a dressing table. Electricity and hot water is a definitive luxury and Kichwa offers it all. The buffet meals are out of this world and has something for everyone. Kichwa Tembo also has a swimming pool and the best view of the Mara plains anyone could wish for. They have arranged meetings with the local Masai, where they allow you to ask them questions about their tradition, life style and much more. In the evening the local Masai men do a traditional dance around the campfire before you have dinner.

Kichwa Tembo is in the west of the Masai Mara, located high on a ridge on the edge of riverine forest. The luxury tents are stylish and spacious with twin beds and en suite bathroom with hot shower, toilet and electrical hurricane lamp. Each tent has its own shaded verandah with canvas camp chairs and a stunning view.

Game viewing from Kichwa is excellent - with large herds of buffalo and elephant often being seen. A swimming pool is available to cool off in, with some of the best views in Africa. The camp uses specially designed Land Cruisers with open roofs for optimum game viewing. Guides are knowledgeable on the flora, fauna, game, bird life as well as the customs of the Masai people.
