About Kruger Park Private Game Lodges
All reserves in South Africa are fenced, and Kruger is no different. However,
along the south-western sides of the park, about 100km of fences have been removed to allow animals
to cross into the adjacent private reserves.
These private reserves offer visitors an upmarket safari experience, and sightings of all the Big Five are virtually
guaranteed. Although conservation standards are very high, there are fewer restrictions in the private
reserves and game vehicles are allowed to leave the roads at the rangers' discretion.
The animals are also
more habituated to people, allowing closer and more frequent sightings of normally elusive animals.
