Sossuvlei Mountain Lodge
Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge is located in the northern corner of the pristine NamibRand Nature Reserve (180 000 hectares) on the eastern boundary of the Namib Naukluft National Park, near Sossusvlei. As this is a privately owned reserve, access is exclusive to residents. Accommodation consists of ten spacious stone and glass suites which are located at the foot of a mountain overlooking an expansive Namib grass plain that leads into a sea of red sand dunes. Each air conditioned suite is exquisitely furnished and decorated to complement the majestic hues of the oldest living desert in the world. Boasting a private verandah, split level lounge area with fireplace, expansive star viewing window above the bed, en suite glass encased bathroom with hot/cold shower as well as an outdoor shower for starlit bathing. The suites are equipped with personal bar, CD system, compact telescope, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities, range of guest amenities and service intercom. The split-level main lodge is an ensemble of glass and stone curves where walls have become windows or fall away completely. There are quiet hideaways, viewing decks, a cocktail bar, fireplace, airy dining room, well stocked wine cellar, main lounge and terrace, upper lounge and viewing deck, CD and book library, curio shop, observatory and swimming pool.

Scenic drives by four-wheel drive open vehicle on the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Closed air conditioned Land Cruiser excursions to Sossusvlei and the Sesriem Canyon. Guided nature walks. Marked hiking trails. Guided four-wheel motorbike (ATV) excursions onto the dunes. Stargazing from the lodge's observatory. An optional extra at additional cost is hot-air ballooning over the Namib Desert (weather permitting).
