DAY 1 WINDHOEK06h00 Check in for flight to Windhoek 08h00 SW 745 departs Cape Town 10h00 Flight arrives Windhoek On arrival, met by Wilderness Safaris - who will transfer you by road to Windhoek Country Club for overnight OVERNIGHT: WINDHOEK CLUB RESORT - Bed and Breakfast Set on the outskirts of town close to Eros Airport, Windhoek Country Club Resort is a complete destination on it's own. This is due to the world class conferencing facilities, 18 Hole golf course and casino. All 152 rooms and suites are decorated in contemporary African Style and have climate control, satellite television, 24 hour room service and tea / coffee making facilities. There are three bars, including one beside the pool area that is built into a magnificent faux rock formation, two restaurants and a full beauty salon. Back to topDAY 2 WINDHOEK - DESERT EXPRESSBreakfast at your hotel, and check out. 14h00 Approx. time of collection by Wilderness Safaris for your transfer to the Train Station 15h00 Desert Express Train departs OVERNIGHT: DESERT EXPRESS - Bed and Breakfast Travel between Windhoek and Swakopmund (or visa versa) in comfort and style aboard Namibia's own luxury train. The Desert Express has been winding through the Namib Desert since April 1998 and has played host to a number of celebrities and dignitaries in the short time that it has been in operation. To gain the true African style, the train is decorated in burned amber leather upholstery, rich golden and red woods and animal motifs taken from the surrounding area. All 24 sleeper compartments are fully air-conditioned and have en-suite facilities. The compartments convert into a private lounge during the day and can accommodate up to three passengers each. Although it is possible, we do not recommend more than 2 people per compartment for comfort's sake. The onboard Welwitschia Restaurant is renowned for it's selection of indigenous dished such as Oryx (Gemsbok), Ostrich and Namibia's famous seafood. These gastronomic delights are complimented by a selection of fine South African wines. Guests can relax in The Spitzkoppe Lounge and enjoy full bar service. This includes a number of speciality cocktails. There are also conference facilities on board for small gatherings and this room can also be used for private functions. Three-course dinner as well as breakfast is included in the rates, along with both an evening and morning excursion. Back to top |
DAY 3 DESERT EXPRESS - KULALA DESERT LODGE10h00 Approx. time of arrival in Swakopmund On arrival, transfer by Desert Express to the airport.Light Aircraft transfer from the Airport to Kulala Desert Lodge in Sossusvlei OVERNIGHT: KULALA DESERT LODGE - FULLY INCLUSIVE Twelve thatched & canvas chalets or "Kulalas" (Swaheli for resting place) with en suite bathrooms and showers are set on wooden platforms to provide maximum airflow. The main lodge, with décor inspired from Northern Africa, has a lounge, pub, dining area and plunge pool. Early morning guided drives to the spectacular dunes are through a private gate on the Tsauchab River. Drives and walks are also offered on the private reserve with incredible views, desert game and smaller desert fauna and flora, returning to the lodge with a spotlight night-drive Activities Early morning guided game drives to thespectacular dunes are via a private gate on the Tsauchab River. Early morning hot-air ballooning is another option offered, weather permitting.
