Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park

Situated just two hours from Durban and four from Gauteng, Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park is a rich wildlife sanctuary comprising of amazing sandstone cliffs, breathtaking picturesque views and descending waterfalls and just a view away from the world-renowned Amphitheatre.

The Park offers you a wide range of accommodation facilties from luxury lodges at Giant's Castle and Royal Natal's Thendele or fully-equiped cottages and chalets to rustic mountain huts and over-night caves. Overnight camping is also permitted in most sites.

The gracious walk of the enormous Eland Antelope, the bearded Vulture, the rich botanic grandeur in shades of green embracing the foothills and the mountains, the San Rock Art decorating more than 500 caves throughout these mountains, nothing could be more photogenic. Scenic campsites with fully-appointed picnic and ablution facilities are located in Royal Natal, Injisuthi, Lotheni, Cathedral Peak and Monks Cowl. Hikers and backpackers can retreat to rustic mountain huts and overnight caves in Injisuthi and Giants Castle, for a true outdoor accommodation.
