Tides River Lodge

Tides River Lodge is situated on the banks of the Breede River near Malgas. The river is a tidal estuary famous for its fishing, birdlife and watersports. It is a short two and a half hour trip from Cape Town, half an hour from Swellendam, on the way to the Garden Route.

We offer catered or self catering accommodation in beautifully appointed thatched units with a relaxed, homely atmosphere.

An ideal base for exploring the Overberg Region and De Hoop Nature Reserve.

Accommodation comprises of

• Zebra Lodge - This luxurious thatched, fully equipped double volume lodge has four double bedrooms, three with private balconies for early morning tea.
• Cob Cottage - This delightful fully equipped thatched cottage right on the waters edge has four double bedrooms, three leading onto river view balconies.
• Heron House - Three large, bright, sunny bedrooms each with a Queen size bed and two additional single beds.
• The Boathouse - A one roomed self contained thatched loft unit on the waters edge. Wooden deck overlooking the river and garden. Ideal for couples.

Launch your own boat or hire one of our boats for river cruises, fishing expeditions or water-sports. Canoes, skis, tubes, rods, flippers and snorkels can be provided.
