The Arusha Hotel

First built in 1927 by Kenyon Painter, an American coffee farmer, 'The Arusha' hotel has been home to many travellers on their journey from Cape to Cairo. Having recently undergone an extensive renovation and refurbishment program it is now considered to be the only 5 star hotel in town. Set in landscaped gardens in the central shopping and business area of Arusha town, it is just 15 minutes from Arusha Airport and 45 minutes from Kilimanjaro International.

The Arusha has 65 rooms, all with 24-hour room service, including 2 suites, 6 deluxe rooms, 34 executive rooms and 23 twins. The elegantly furnished, en-suite bathrooms are equipped with bathroom amenities and tea and coffee making facilities for the ‘early risers’. Each room is fitted with satellite television, hair dryer and an electronic safe large enough to fit the average size laptop. For the business traveller, all rooms have direct dial phones and Internet access. Guests can enjoy the attentive service by the pool – the only heated pool in town.
