located 1.5km from Arusha town in Mount Meru’s lush green foothills. A twenty minute walk to town or a short taxi ride away. The lodge was founded in 2000 and features beautifully finished cottage rooms with exteriors built in brick with wooden decked porches and traditional makuti thatched rooves, while the interiors have been creatively designed with traditional wood finishes, wooden floors and attractive woven banana-leaf ceilings. Furniture is stylishly hand-carved hardwood and bathrooms (all en suite) are fully tiled with modern, Scandinavian-style ceramic suites and shower fittings. There is a babbling stream running through the property that can be heard from the rear-facing rooms and the circular honey-moon suite. All rooms are set with private balconies surrounded by carefully tended trees, exotic flowers and shrubs, creating an atmosphere of privacy, peace and tranquility. Facilities include a prettily designed, well-stocked bar and an outdoor style restaurant set amidst the gardens which are home to an exceptional variety of birdlife. Traditional African and European cuisine may be pre-ordered for lunch and/or dinner. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is always personal and friendly.

(The owner/manager is a Maasai who has spent over 30 years working in UK, Sweden and Denmark. He speaks absolutely fluent English and is an extremely affable and attentive host, always on the premises.)
