Fothergill Island Lodge
As the waters rose and the land receded, there was left, amongst the skeletons of trees, an island that became a haven for a myriad of species. Fothergill Island, set against the majestic Matusadona Mountains, is a place where a respect and love of nature underscore peoples' lives. Goliath herons, tiny malachite kingfishers, storks and of course the fish eagle, can all be found on the island.
Walking with professional guides, game drives in open 4 wheel drive vehicles and boat safaris give visitors a chance to view lion, elephant, buffalo and other game first hand.
Accommodation consists of 14 thatched 'A' frame lodges with en-suite facilities. Fans & 'four poster' mosquito nets in each lodge. There is a central dining area with bar and swimming pool.
